3XR Architecure Passive Radiators
The core technology behind Descend’s 3XR™ Architecure are its passive bass radiators that enable the DN12 to provide triple the bass-producing radiating surface area of a traditional 12" ported subwoofer. This extra surface area moves more air, resulting in a massive low end that enables the DN12 to play as loud and as low as a larger 15” ported sub or two 12" ported subs, but without the unwanted port noise distortion commonly found on ported subwoofers. Using passive radiators also delivers a smoother frequency response like that of a sealed sub, while maintaining the ability to play louder and lower like that of a ported sub. Descend 3XR™ technology provides the best of both worlds: louder, clearer bass than a ported sub in a smaller sealed sub sized enclosure!

Custom Amplification
The custom amplifiers used in Descend Series subwoofers were designed to get the most out of Descend’s unique 3XR™ Architecture. Optimized for efficiency and a strict avoidance of distortion, Descend’s amps deliver consistently dynamic performance with the ability to push hard for maximum impact when needed. The DN12 is equipped with a 1500W peak Class H digital amplifier to cleanly reproduce sustained bass below 25Hz and provides real-time monitoring and adjustments to the sliding rail voltage to deliver considerably higher power during short, transient peaks such as bass drum kicks and on-screen artillery blasts.

Intelligent Phase Control™
Intelligent Phase Control™ provides a full 360 degrees of customizable phase adjustment, always centered around the settings of the low-pass filter. This provides the DN12 the ability to be tuned for minimal group delay for a flawless blending experience between your main speakers and the subwoofer.

Advanced DSP
The advanced 56-bit Digital Signal Processor (DSP) extends and improves the DN12’s bass response. The DSP tightly monitors and controls the woofer system to prevent distortion and woofer damage at ultra-high volumes with a minimum of audible artifacts.
