Six-Driver Array & Amplification
The Denon Home 400 is engineered for powerful, high-fidelity sound via a custom-engineered six-driver array consisting of dual 19 mm / 0.75 in. tweeters, dual 114 mm / 4.5 in. woofers, and dual 25 mm / 1 in. upfiring height speakers (per Info Sheet; listed as 0.95 in. on retailer product page). Each of the six drivers is powered by its own dedicated Class-D amplifier for precise control and balance, delivering full, detailed audio that fills your space.

Dolby Atmos Music
The Denon Home 400 supports Dolby Atmos Music playback, expanding the soundstage across a wider and taller dimension to add a lifelike sense of space and realism — all from a single speaker.

High-Resolution Audio
The Denon Home 400 supports high-resolution audio streaming over Wi-Fi from leading services including TIDAL, Qobuz, and Amazon Music. Lossless quality formats such as DSD are also supported via USB or NAS connected devices.

Powered by HEOS
The HEOS system enables true multi-room audio, automatically synchronizing audio playback between multiple HEOS Built-in devices so that audio from different rooms is perfectly in sync. Up to 32 HEOS Built-in devices can be added to a system, with up to 16 individual products grouped to play the same song fully synchronized. The HEOS app is available for iOS and Android.

Stereo & Surround Pairing
Two Denon Home 400 speakers can be wirelessly paired for a wider, more spacious stereo soundstage. Additionally, Denon Home speakers can be used as wireless surround speakers for the Denon Home Sound Bar 550, and the system supports a subwoofer powered by HEOS for a wireless 5.1 home theater configuration.

Wireless Connectivity & Streaming
The Denon Home 400 supports Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz; IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth. Music files stored on an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac, or Windows PC can be streamed to the unit via AirPlay. AirPlay 2 enables multiple AirPlay 2 compatible devices to be synced for simultaneous playback, requiring iOS 11.4 or later, or macOS Catalina or later. Bluetooth supports SBC audio format, Classic Audio (AVRCP — receive only), Power Class 1, with a typical range of 30 m in line of sight. Spotify Connect is also supported.

Sound Tuning & Adjustment
Denon Home speakers are tuned by the Denon Sound Master for natural balance and rich detail. The Denon Home 400 includes bass and treble control, as well as height control and width control. Quick Select buttons (3) on the side panel allow playback source settings — including sound mode, width, height, bass, and treble — to be registered and recalled. The speaker is Roon Ready.

Voice Control
The Denon Home 400 features a built-in microphone with an on/off switch and supports Siri voice control. To use Siri, an Apple HomePod or Apple HomePod Mini must be connected to the same network. Siri can be activated via the Action button (O) on the side panel without saying "Hey, Siri." The microphone mute switch on the rear panel disables the microphone and the Action button simultaneously when engaged. Works with Apple Home and Apple AirPlay.

Connectivity & Inputs
The rear panel includes a 3.5 mm AUX input for connecting audio devices via a 3.5 mm stereo audio cable (not included), with a maximum analog input of 2 Vrms. A USB-C port supports both USB-C storage devices (FAT32 or NTFS formatted USB flash drives) and wired Ethernet network connectivity via a USB-C to Ethernet adapter (not included; an adapter up to 1 Gbps is recommended). Supported file types include WAV (PCM), MP3, AAC (M4A/AAC), WMA (WMA9 CBR), FLAC, ALAC (M4A), and DSD (DSDIFF/DSF). DRM-protected files such as those using Apple FairPlay DRM are not supported.

Mounting
The speaker features a screw hole on the bottom and can be mounted on a wall or floor stand using a standard speaker or camera mount/attachment (6.35 mm diameter, 10 mm length) that supports at least 16.8 kg. A commercial bracket (not included) is required; the speaker must not be attached directly to the wall.

Power Management
The Denon Home 400 automatically enters Network Standby mode after 20 minutes of no operation and no network access (or after 20 minutes of no audio when using AUX IN). Network Standby power consumption ranges from 1.5 W to 2.3 W depending on active connection settings. The unit will automatically enter Deep Standby mode (0.3 W) when the wired or wireless network connection is removed for more than 60 minutes while in Network Standby mode. The Play/Pause button can be held for 5 seconds to manually enter Deep Standby mode.
