The R18is offers increased power, excursion, and subsonic capability over its brother the R18s, designed specifically for in-wall applications. A proprietary, versatile vibration isolation mounting solution supports in-room, in-wall, and on-wall installations, as well as waveforming. Includes the DSP1500A 1.5kW external amplifier with custom DSP and digital input, housed in a hybrid aluminum/steel chassis with a front-facing color touchscreen. The amplifier can be conveniently located on display in-room or hidden away in a separate room with other rack-mounted components. No internal fans for quiet operation, with ventilation flowing front to back — no blank rack space needed when deploying multiple units.

Driver & Engineering
The R18is features a 460mm (18") glass fiber composite diaphragm driver with ±31.9mm linear excursion — increased over the R18s — delivering greater power, excursion, and subsonic capability reaching below 20Hz. Key engineering ingredients include multiple aluminum shorting rings, massive magnets, multi-layer Nomex spiders, and lightweight aluminum voice coil wire. Proprietary nonlinear modeling techniques allow Perlisten to simulate all components and optimize for real-world driver performance — both free air and in-box — with further refinement via Klippel laser measurements. This is trickle-down technology from the flagship D-Series.

DSP1500A Amplifier & Control
The R18is includes the DSP1500A 1500W RMS external amplifier with custom DSP and digital input. Housed in a hybrid aluminum/steel chassis with a front-facing LCD color touchscreen (2.8" per R18is datasheet and spec table; 2.4" per DSP 1500 product page), the amplifier can be located on display in-room or hidden in a separate room with other rack-mounted components. It can be placed on an equipment stand or mounted into a standard 19" (403mm) rack — occupying two rack spaces with both front and rear mount options included. No internal fans for quiet operation; ventilation flows front to back with no blank rack space needed between multiple units. The Perlisten Audio app (iOS and Android) via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) can simultaneously control up to eight Perlisten subwoofer models. All functions and safeties are controlled by a Ti DSP with 48-bit data paths and a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 processor with double precision floating point math.

Versatile Vibration Isolation Mounting
The R18is incorporates a proprietary, versatile vibration isolation mounting solution supporting in-room freestanding, on-wall, and in-wall installations, as well as waveforming applications. Four rubber feet provide vibration isolation for in-room use. An eyebolt is included with alternate foot locations available. Mounting bracket maximum span: 25-15/16" (659.6mm). Total height with bracket: 49-9/16" (1258.3mm).

Integrator-Focused Design
The R18is is designed for cinema and immersive audio installations where the subwoofer must be hidden within walls or behind fabric. It does not require a pristine exterior finish and is engineered to be installer-friendly while delivering prodigious bass output capable of reaching subsonic ranges below 20Hz to reveal information never heard before.
