Three Hearing Profiles for Enhanced Speech Intelligibility
The hearing profiles alter the sound of the audio signal to specifically improve speech intelligibility. The profiles are used to change certain frequency ranges by boosting or attenuating low-frequency or high-frequency tones. Hearing profile 1 provides a warm, full sound with slightly boosted low-frequency tones and less piercing high-frequency reproduction. Hearing profile 2 delivers crystal-clear sound with strongly boosted high-frequency tones, especially for sibilants and high-frequency sounds. Hearing profile 3 attenuates low-frequency tones so they cannot mask high-frequency tones. All hearing profiles feature a compression function which compensates for volume differences by boosting the volume of quiet passages and reducing the volume of loud passages.

Speech Intelligibility Function
When speech is mixed with annoying background noise, speech may be difficult to understand. The speech intelligibility function automatically detects and reduces annoying background noise. The audio signal is permanently analyzed and adjusted accordingly so speech is foregrounded and easier to understand. This function works particularly well for TV motion pictures, TV series, audio books, and sportscasts where dialogs and presentations can be muffled by background music, noise, or stadium sounds.

Individual Balance Adjustment
The balance buttons allow for left/right volume adjustment, ensuring you hear equally well with both ears. The balance setting is stored on the receiver, allowing multiple receivers to be optimally adjusted to match the personal hearing preferences of different users. This makes the FLEX 5000 ideal for couples or family members with different hearing needs.

Extended Battery Life and Smart Charging
With up to 12 hours of operating time on a full charge, the FLEX 5000 provides extended TV sessions without interruption. The transmitter serves as a smart docking station that charges the receiver's built-in lithium-polymer rechargeable battery in approximately 3 hours. Intelligent battery charging technology prevents overcharging, and a charging reminder function helps ensure the receiver is always ready when needed.

Universal Audio Connectivity
The FLEX 5000 offers full compatibility with both digital and analog TV outputs. Connect via optical digital cable for the best possible listening experience with PCM format support up to 96 kHz, or use the included 3.5 mm stereo audio cable for analog connections to headphone jacks, RCA sockets, or SCART sockets (adapters available separately).
