Sennheiser IE 600 – Wired In Ear Earphones Headphones

Simply beautiful sound, and the lengths Sennheiser will go to achieve it — that is the story of the IE 600. These in-ear earphones not only reproduce the detail and emotion of a recording, they transcend it. Each earphone is a masterpiece, from the hand-finished amorphous metal housing to high-end audio components developed and made by Sennheiser, everything manufactured to the strictest tolerances. The IE 600 follows in the footsteps of Sennheiser's audiophile flagship IE 900, featuring the highly acclaimed TrueResponse transducers and Dual 2 Chamber Absorber (D2CA) resonator chambers that help achieve a direct and focused soundstage. The balanced frequency response and extremely durable materials have been engineered to provide clear, natural voicing and a unique aesthetic that will retain its good looks for decades.

Highlights & Key Technologies

TrueResponse Transducer & D2CA Technology
At the heart of the IE 600 is the 7 mm extra-wideband (XWB) TrueResponse dynamic transducer — the same driver found in Sennheiser's IE 900 flagship. This single dynamic driver exhibits virtually no harmonic distortion (less than 0.06% at 1 kHz, 94 dB), reproducing transients with great precision across the entire frequency range from 4 Hz to 46,500 Hz. The IE 600 integrates Dual 2 Chamber Absorbers (D2CA) which capture and attenuate masking frequencies, revealing even the finest textures of your music. Sennheiser's engineers carefully tuned the acoustic back volume inside the nozzle to achieve a natural sound reminiscent of the neutrality provided by high-end studio monitors. Voices come to the fore and build a bridge between you and the music, while the IE 600 nevertheless delivers powerful yet fast and accurate low-end response.

AMLOY ZR01 Amorphous Metal Housing
The IE 600 housing is fabricated from AMLOY ZR01, a zirconium-copper-aluminum-niobium alloy from Heraeus Amloy Technologies. This amorphous metal has triple the hardness and flexural strength of high-performance steel. Shock-frozen during manufacturing, the metal never forms a crystalline structure, resulting in a lustrous, satiny surface that is extraordinarily resistant against corrosion and scratches. The housing is produced using metal-powder-based 3D printing (selective laser melting) in Germany, building each housing layer by layer. Chambers and channels form as part of this additive manufacturing process with no milling required. A technician then removes any artifacts of the manufacturing process by hand, followed by thorough cleaning, steel shot blasting, polishing, and sophisticated surface treatment to achieve the final, extremely durable aesthetic. Even daily use leaves practically no evidence in the form of scratches or wear. The earphone housings are made of amorphous metal, and as a result, the first skin contact can cause irritation for a short moment at very cold or warm temperatures.

Fidelity+ MMCX Connectors & Cables
The IE 600 features gold-plated Fidelity+ MMCX connectors recessed in the housing for greater stability and guidance, supporting cable diameters of 4.8 mm and smaller. Two para-aramid reinforced oxygen-free copper (OFC) cables are included as standard: a 3.5 mm unbalanced (3-pin) cable and a 4.4 mm balanced (5-pin) cable, each approximately 1.25 m in length. An optional 2.5 mm balanced (4-pin) cable is available separately. The cables feature TPU-coated adjustable ear hooks for over-the-ear routing, providing lightweight wearing comfort and reduced structure-borne noise compared to standard cables.

Comfort, Fit & Identification
The IE 600 packs big sound into a small, ergonomic package weighing approximately 6 grams per earphone without cable. Adjustable ear hooks and a choice of ear tip adapters ensure a comfortable and secure fit for extended listening sessions. Silicone ear adapters (S, M, L) and Visco memory foam ear adapters (S, M, L) are included, with two lock-in positions for tuning the fit. The right earphone is marked with "R" and an additional red ring, while the left earphone is marked with "L" and additional tactile dots for correct identification. The earphones provide up to 25 dB of passive noise attenuation (per product page; –26 dB per instruction manual).

Manufacturing & Quality
The IE 600 is manufactured by a team of experts at Sennheiser's factory specialized in headphones in Tullamore, Ireland. The tightest production tolerances apply: every transducer is fully tested — first individually and then together after the right and left earphones have been hand-selected in pairs. The transducers of the right and left earphones are carefully selected to optimally match each other, achieving channel matching that makes left-right differences nearly undetectable. A premium carry case with metal serial number plate, signed certificate of authenticity, and presentation box are included.
