Sennheiser RS 2000 – Wireless TV Stethoset System

The Sennheiser RS 2000 adds clarity and comfort to your TV sound with a lightweight stethoset receiver design that hangs freely from your ears and rests lightly on your chest — ideal for glasses wearers and extended listening sessions. The RS 2000 features cutting-edge digital wireless technology with a range of up to 50 meters, providing crystal-clear signal transmission while you move freely around your home. The stethoset design does not fully cover your ear canals, allowing ambient sound to pass through so you remain aware of your surroundings while enjoying superior Sennheiser sound quality. Left/right balance adjustment lets you tailor the volume in each ear independently. The sleek TR 2000 transmitter doubles as a compact docking station that charges the stethoset receiver's built-in lithium polymer battery, providing up to 9 hours of operating time with just 3 hours of charging. The ear bows feature an intuitive on/off mechanism — simply pull apart to switch on, fold together to switch off.

Highlights & Key Technologies

Stethoset Design & Comfort
Unlike traditional over-ear headphones, the RR 2000 stethoset receiver hangs freely from your ears and rests lightly on your chest, putting no pressure on ears or temples even during long listening sessions. This design is especially appreciated by glasses wearers, as the eyeglasses-compatible design allows you to wear your glasses comfortably without painful pressure marks. The ear pads do not fully cover your ear canals, allowing ambient sound to pass through so you are not acoustically isolated from your environment — you can still hear doorbells, phone calls, and conversations around you. The ear pads are available in different sizes and materials from your Sennheiser partner, and are replaceable by carefully detaching them from the receiver. They can be cleaned under lukewarm running water and must air dry for at least 12 hours before reuse. When putting the stethoset receiver on, observe the L (left) and R (right) markings on the rear of the ear bows, and position the ear pads just in front of your ear canals for optimal sound.

Digital Wireless Transmission
The RS 2000 uses innovative digital wireless technology operating in the 2,406 to 2,474 MHz frequency band with 8-FSK digital modulation and a maximum RF output power of 10 dBm. Audio latency is less than 60 ms, ensuring lip-sync accuracy when watching TV. The system provides a transmission range of up to 50 meters with free line of sight and uses automatic frequency management to ensure the best possible radio transmission and optimum co-existence with other wireless devices in its vicinity. If you leave the transmission range, sound drops out occasionally at first before the connection breaks down completely. When you re-enter the range, the transmitter automatically switches on again and the connection is re-established. The transmitter should be placed at least 50 cm (20 inches) away from other wireless devices and not near metal objects such as shelf bars, reinforced concrete walls, etc. as this can decrease the transmitter's range.

Analog Audio Input & Connectivity
The TR 2000 transmitter connects to your audio source via the Analog 3.5 mm In audio input (3.5 mm jack socket). The supplied stereo audio cable with 3.5 mm jack plugs (1.5 m) connects directly to your TV's headphone output or audio output. For TVs with RCA outputs, a separately ordered RCA adapter (3.5 mm jack socket to 2 RCA connectors) is available. For TVs with SCART outputs, a separately ordered SCART adapter is available. For audio sources with a 6.3 mm (¼") headphone jack, a separately ordered 3.5 mm-to-6.3 mm adapter is needed. For TVs with only an HDMI output, an active HDMI audio adapter is required (available separately). If the transmitter is connected to the analog headphone socket of your TV, some TV models mute the internal loudspeakers; check the TV menu to see if this can be deactivated. Adjust the volume of the headphone socket on your TV/audio source to at least a medium level for optimal wireless audio transmission quality.

Multi-Receiver Transmission
The TR 2000 transmitter supports up to two stethoset receivers simultaneously, allowing two listeners to enjoy the same audio source at their own preferred volume levels. Compatible devices include the RR 2000 and RR 5000 stethoset receivers, the RR Flex receiver, and the HDR 165, HDR 175, and HDR 185 headphones. Note that the HDR 165, HDR 175, and HDR 185 headphones can only be used for audio reproduction with the TR 2000 — additional functions are not available and these headphones cannot be charged using the TR 2000 transmitter. Other Sennheiser wireless headphones (e.g. RS 11x series, RS 12x series, RS 160, RS 170, RS 180, RS 220) are not compatible and cannot be used.

Battery & Charging
The RR 2000 stethoset receiver features a built-in BAP 800 lithium polymer rechargeable battery (3.7 V, 350 mAh) providing up to 9 hours of operating time. A complete charging cycle takes about 3 hours. Before first use, charge the rechargeable battery for a complete charging cycle without interruption. Simply place the stethoset receiver into the transmitter's charging compartment with the volume buttons facing upwards — the receiver is magnetically oriented to the correct position and automatically switches off to begin charging. The Charge status LED on the transmitter lights up red during charging and goes off when the battery is fully charged. If the Charge status LED flashes red, a charging error/battery error has occurred. The built-in rechargeable battery must not be replaced or removed by the user; if the operating time decreases drastically, have the battery replaced by an authorized Sonova Consumer Hearing partner. An optional MCA 800 charging adapter is available for charging the stethoset receiver independently of the transmitter — you can also use the receiver during charging with the MCA 800. Always store the stethoset receiver in the transmitter's charging compartment when not in use to ensure it is fully charged when needed. The intelligent battery charging technology prevents overcharging.

Volume, Balance & Controls
The RR 2000 stethoset receiver features Volume + and Volume – buttons for adjusting the overall volume. Separate Balance buttons on the right and left side of the receiver allow independent left/right volume adjustment, so you can adjust the balance to hear equally well with both ears. To reset the balance to the middle setting, simultaneously press both Balance buttons. The ear bows feature an intuitive on/off mechanism: pulling the ear bows apart automatically switches the receiver on, and folding them together switches it off after 3 seconds. When no stethoset receiver is connected, the transmitter automatically enters standby mode.

Transmitter Design
The TR 2000 transmitter features a sleek, compact design that makes a stylish yet subtle addition to any home entertainment system. The charging compartment holds the stethoset receiver in a compact horizontal position with magnetic holding for correct alignment. The transmitter connects to the power supply via the yellow-marked 5V DC 1A socket, and the audio input via the blue-marked Analog 3.5 mm In jack socket — color coding simplifies setup. Varnish or furniture polish may degrade the feet of the transmitter, which could stain furniture; place the transmitter on a non-slip pad to avoid potential staining.
