Advanced Power Filtration for Enhanced Sound and Picture
Engineered with advanced power filtration, the PowerQuest 505 removes significantly more noise and distortion than typical power conditioners, helping your system perform at its best. Through differential sample tests and spectrum analysis, it can be proven that up to a third of a high-resolution (low-level) audio signal can be lost, masked, or highly distorted by the vast levels of noise riding along the AC power lines that feed components; the PowerQuest 505 addresses this with consistent, holistic noise dissipation across a wide range of frequencies rather than at just one octave.
Ultra-Linear Noise-Dissipation
The PowerQuest 505 employs an Ultra-Linear Differential Filter (30kHz – 1GHz, well in excess of 22dB) and an Ultra-Linear Common-Mode Filter (30kHz – 100MHz, well in excess of 22dB). Both filters are linearized for rising line impedance with frequency from 0.05 Ohms (source) and 10 to 50 Ohms load (system current dependent), ensuring consistent noise reduction for black backgrounds and detailed sound.
Powerful Surge Defense with Long-Term Reliability
With non-sacrificial surge protection, the PQ-505 goes beyond traditional surge protectors. It safeguards against high voltage and current, preventing damage to your equipment and ensuring the device's long-term reliability. Built to endure rigorous 6000V/3000A input surge tests, the PQ-505 can withstand multiple surges at the highest level that a building's AC panel can survive, offering reliable protection without components wearing out over time.
Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS)
The Extreme Voltage Shutdown feature activates the main power circuit relay in less than 0.25 seconds at 140VAC and automatically resets once power returns to a safe level, ensuring protection against voltage spikes for connected devices.
Purpose-Built Outlets for Ultimate Performance
Each of the PowerQuest 505's outlets is specifically engineered for optimal performance, isolated bank by bank so that not every circuit is treated the same. Four High-Current outlets are designed for soundbars, power amplifiers, audio/video receivers, or subwoofers, minimizing AC impedance to the amplifier power supply. Eight Ultra-Linear Filtered outlets are ideal for audio/video source components, computers, modems, or routers — optimized for line-level audio preamplifiers, DACs, universal players, turntables, and video products whose lower input level and higher gain require a more robust means of noise dissipation. The eight filtered outlets are isolated from the four high-current outlets to control the complex interactions of RF and other induced noises.
High-Performance Detachable PQ-715 Power Cable
The detachable PQ-715 cable uses AudioQuest's high-purity Semi-Solid Long-Grain Copper conductor metal in which strands are packed more tightly and never change position within the bundle, significantly reducing strand-interaction distortion. Long-Grain Copper further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor. A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest's multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly — away from the system's vulnerable circuitry. AudioQuest's ZERO-Tech ensures uncompressed current transfer and linearized noise-dissipation, while RF/ND-Tech minimizes circuit misbehavior by canceling induced RF noise.
Flat-to-Wall 45° Plug
The Flat-to-Wall 45° Plug can be easily installed in tight spaces behind furniture or other hard-to-reach areas.
Rack-Mountable, Sleek Design
With its compact, rack-friendly dimensions and provided 2-RU rack ears, the PQ-505 fits comfortably in most spaces, seamlessly fitting into home theater A/V racks for efficient organization while optimizing power delivery. The PowerQuest 505 may also be placed on its included rubber-foam textured polymer feet on any table, cabinet, shelf, or floor, and under standard use does not produce any appreciable heat.
Break-In and Continuous Use
Made of a variety of passive and active components, the PowerQuest 505 performs very well from the first moment of use and improves gradually over a period of approximately two weeks. It can be left on continuously with no parts that will wear out, and was designed to last for over two decades.
