Power and Control
At the heart of Evo 300 is a Class D amplification stage crafted around Hypex NCOREx modules, expertly tuned by Cambridge and delivering 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Every stage has been considered, from digital conversion and pre-amplification through to volume control and dual-mono power delivery. A dual-mono layout delivers precise stereo separation, while a balanced pre-amplifier stage and dedicated high-precision analogue volume controls for each channel help preserve stereo focus, dynamic range and low-level detail at every listening level. A carefully specified switch-mode power supply ensures consistent performance under sustained load, for sound with real authority and scale paired with the musical insight and engagement that define Cambridge Audio amplification.

StreamMagic Gen 4 Platform
Cambridge’s StreamMagic Gen 4 streaming platform sits at the heart of the experience, bringing the proven streaming experience of Cambridge’s acclaimed standalone network players into a complete high-end system. It supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, UPnP and Internet Radio over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, all controlled through the StreamMagic app. Because StreamMagic is developed in-house, it continues to evolve, with regular updates and new features added over time. With Google Cast and Connect services, Evo 300 receives streams directly from the cloud, so your phone or tablet acts only as a controller, not the source. UPnP support also lets Evo 300 play self-hosted music collections from a NAS or home server, including downloaded tracks and ripped CDs.

Digital Mastery
Digital audio is handled by the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC, supporting up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 — matching the highest-resolution formats used in professional recording. Evo 300 simply gets out of the way, perfectly preserving the digital signal without resampling, from source to conversion and output.

Connectivity
Connectivity includes USB audio, optical TOSLINK, and coaxial inputs, alongside HDMI eARC for simple TV integration with high-quality two-channel sound. Wireless listening is supported via Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD, alongside AirPlay 2 and Google Cast. A dedicated 6.35mm headphone output drives high-quality headphones for detailed, dynamic personal listening, automatically muting the speaker and pre-out when connected.

Analogue Flexibility
Alongside its digital capabilities, Evo 300 offers comprehensive analogue support. A built-in moving magnet phono stage, drawing on decades of Cambridge amplifier design, allows a turntable to plug straight in, alongside RCA and balanced XLR inputs that accommodate a wide range of additional analogue sources. There are dual speaker binding posts per channel for creating two separate speaker zones, switchable from the StreamMagic app, and a three-position ground switch helps eliminate hum and noise across different system setups.

Configurable Subwoofer Output
The Evo 300 features a fully configurable subwoofer output for seamless integration with an active subwoofer and precise bass management, controlled via the StreamMagic app. In On + Tuning Controls mode, the level is adjustable from –10 dB to +10 dB, a main high-pass filter can attenuate bass below the selected crossover point to reduce strain on the main speakers, the crossover frequency is adjustable from 20 Hz to 250 Hz, and phase can be inverted to help the subwoofer blend more naturally with the main speakers.

Smart Home & Custom Install
Evo 300 integrates seamlessly with Google Home, Apple AirPlay and Roon multi-room systems, as well as Control4 and KNX, making it easy to enjoy music throughout the home and to fit into custom-install systems. Link Evo 300 and other compatible devices across the home using Google Cast, AirPlay 2 or Roon to play the same music or different music room to room. An RS232C connector provides custom install control via a full protocol available on Cambridge’s website, and trigger in/out and IR in connections allow synchronised power control and integration with custom install systems.

Tone Control
Evo is tuned to deliver Great British Sound, with an added digital tone control that allows the sound to be tailored to personal preference. The tone control can be disabled completely so that audio bypasses all processing, leaving Evo performing exactly as tuned. Tone control does not affect DSD streams and is not present on Bluetooth output.

Timeless Design
Evo 300 continues the Evo series’ distinctive design language with a wider, more substantial chassis that has the physical presence to match its performance. Its aluminium chassis is precision-engineered and finished to a high standard, with interchangeable side panels supplied to suit a range of interiors, from natural wood to more contemporary finishes. At 7.8 inches, Evo 300 features Cambridge’s largest display ever, rendering album art, track details, system information and a choice of VU meters. Evo 300 is designed, engineered and acoustically tuned in London at Cambridge Audio’s own music venue and HQ, Melomania.
