The AVR-X3900H is a 9-channel amplifier with 11.4-channel processing, delivering a rated output of 105 watts per channel (8 Ω, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.08% T.H.D.) and 135 watts per channel (6 Ω, 1 kHz, 0.7% T.H.D.) across the front, center, surround, surround back, and height channels. The unit is compatible with speaker impedances of 4 – 16 Ω and supports flexible surround and height speaker layouts to suit a wide range of room sizes.

Dolby Atmos
The AVR-X3900H brings a height element to the immersive 3D audio experience; with virtualized Dolby Atmos, it can engage all speakers to create a 3D audio sensation from legacy content even without height speakers. The placement and movement of sound is accurately reproduced through the addition of overhead speakers for a natural and realistic surround sound field.

DTS:X
DTS:X immersive audio content places sound where it would naturally occur in space, creating lifelike, multi-dimensional audio. The DTS Neural:X upmixer offers heightened realism for legacy content by extending it to the connected speaker configuration.

AURO-3D

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 (Audyssey Platinum)
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 brings high-resolution room correction to large, complex spaces, with up to eight measurement positions and over 10,000 control points. SubEQ HT individually calibrates dual subwoofers, Low Frequency Containment keeps bass from bleeding through walls, and Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume fine-tune playback at every listening level. Audyssey setup is performed using the supplied measuring microphone.

8K Video Support & HDCP 2.3
The AVR-X3900H supports pristine 8K picture quality on an 8K TV or projector, with both 8K pass-through and 8K upscaling of 4K content. Supported video signals range from 480i up to 8K at 60Hz, with 4K supported up to 120Hz. The unit supports HDCP 2.3 for copy-protected content.

Dolby Vision & HDR
The AVR-X3900H supports Dolby Vision, an HDR imaging technology that brings extraordinary color, contrast, and brightness to the screen from a compatible source device and TV. The unit also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), Dynamic HDR, and HDR10+ pass-through to optimize shadows and highlights; HLG offers HDR technology over broadcast content.

ARC (Audio Return Channel) and eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) make playing TV audio through the receiver simple using a single HDMI connection; eARC supports HD and 3D audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and Dolby Atmos.

The AVR-X3900H supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for a smooth, lag-free gaming experience when connected to compatible gaming devices. AMD FreeSync and ultra-smooth 4K gameplay keep fast action fluid and responsive.

Powered by HEOS
HEOS is an app-based system that controls the home audio experience, allowing streaming from top services and playing the same song in every room or a different song for each connected room, all controlled from the HEOS app. Supported services include Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and TIDAL, with internet radio via TuneIn. Add Denon Home speakers to more rooms to expand the system.

High-Resolution Audio
High-resolution audio formats preserve greater detail, dynamic range, and tonal nuance than standard digital audio. The AVR-X3900H supports playback of high-resolution audio files and streams, maintaining signal integrity through advanced digital processing and high-quality conversion. Supported playback formats include WMA, MP3, WAV, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC (up to 192 kHz), Apple Lossless (up to 192 kHz), and DSD (2.8 and 5.6 MHz).

Streaming & Network Services
The AVR-X3900H supports Apple AirPlay 2 for streaming audio from any iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV, in addition to HEOS whole-home streaming and Spotify. The unit connects via wired (Ethernet) or wireless LAN, conforming to IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (Wi-Fi compliant) across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, with WEP, WPA/WPA2-PSK, and WPA3-SAE security support.

Bluetooth
