Panamorph DCR+XM2 – Anamorphic Projector Lens + Mounting Plate

Leveraging our award winning DCR optics, our G2 (second generation) lens system is now packaged with the XM3 universal attachment kit for ceiling or shelf-mounting JVC DILA series projectors. Note that like the previous DCR and CDR lenses, these models do not change the width of the image – only the height – as they convert the full native resolution of the projector to the 2.4:1 cinema format with millions of more pixels for higher brightness and detail. The Alpha and DCR/CDR-G2 include the XM3 plate system for direct mounting to Sony XW, JVC D-ILA and Epson QB/LS projectors or for mounting the XM3 plate between the projector and ceiling mount. A bracket is included with the Alpha Pro either for shelf mounting or to attach to a dedicated Chief RPA/RPM ceiling mount (not included).

DCR-G2 is designed for JVC D-ILA projectors with 65mm lenses such as the NZ800 down to a 1.4:1 throw ratio and with 80mm lenses. It will also work with JVC projectors such as the NZ500/NZ700 with an 80mm lens down to a 1.6:1 throw ratio, and also the 100mm lens of the NZ900 with theater throw ratios of at least 1.7:1. Geometric performance is exactly the same as the DCR-J1 and DCR+XM2 which this model replaces.

CDR-G2 is designed for the Epson QB1000 (and also LS9000 through LS12000) projectors (full throw ratios with all models). The CDR applies a higher magnification than the DCR so an additional amount of barrel distortion should be expected (although Epson has the “point correction” feature to remove distortion if desired).

Installed in over 10,000 of the elite level home theaters world-wide, Panamorph's 8K rated anamorphic conversion lenses work in conjunction with the internal anamorphic modes of modern home theater projectors to provide up to a 30% increase in brightness levels on screen by recapturing millions of what would otherwise be unused black bar pixels, inserting them on to the projected image, all while maintaining video fidelity of the original source.

  • Compatible Sony models:
  • Compatible JVC models: All D-ILA models with 65mm projector lens, All D-ILA models with 80mm projector lens
  • Compatible EPSON models:
  • Compatible BenQ models:
  • Recommended throw distance between 12 and 30 feet (DCRG2 and CDRG2)
  • Lenses support projectors up to 10,000 lumens (DCR G2 and CDR G2)
  • CDR-G2 lenses optimized for use of 16:9 display panels or the 16:9 portion of 17:9 display panels in most projectors having anamorphic modes.
  • DCR-G2 lenses optimized for 17:9 projectors.
  • Both DCR/CDR G2 lenses accept a beam up to 58mm W x 44mm H
  • 2 million more pixels on your 2.4:1 format screen for stunning detail and 30% higher brightness when showing 2.4:1 movie and streaming content.
  • Does not change the projector throw ratio. A slight barrel shaped geometric distortion will appear with the DCRG2. Greater distortion with the CDRG2 can be corrected to a rectangular image using Epson’s “Point Correction.”.
  • Sealed, precision, proprietary all-glass optical system.
  • Instant aspect ratio changes. No need for lens adjustments in shift/zoom/focus.
  • Optimized for vertical position of the projector in typical home theaters from -6″ to +16″ from screen top and +/- 4” from screen horizontal center (greater with higher throw ratios).
  • Additional projector mode fills the 2.4:1 screen with stretched 16:9 content.
  • Weight: Lens and bracket: 3 pounds (1.4Kg). XM3 plate: 5 pounds (2.3Kg).
  • Dimensions: Lens only: 3.7” (94mm) D X 4.3” (109mm) H X 5.4” (136mm) W. Allow 4.2” (105mm) in front of the projector lens for mounting and adjustments before obstructions in front of the anamorphic lens
