A/E's Take
By installing a subwoofer in the wall suspended from the stud wall, you can hide the physical box of the speaker, while at the same time isolate the subwoofer to prevent anything structural from shaking - you'll hear just the bass which is what you're after. These must be used for a new construction or rennovation project, as they're installed in between the studs in a wall, so keep that in mind. One or two of these subs can be powered perfectly by the PSB CS 500W amplifier.
PSB CSIW SUB10 / CSIWSUB10 / CSIW-SUB10 / CSIW SUB 10
Our CSIW SUB10 is an exciting, new construction subwoofer that leverages PSB’s decades of experience for the Professional CI installer. The CSIW SUB10 was created to isolate the sealed cabinet from the drywall, as well as minimize the protrusion of the grille from the surface of the drywall. This eliminates unwanted resonances for cleaner, tighter bass.
The unique design then couples the subwoofer cabinet directly to the stud beams and allows the grille to accommodate various wall thicknesses. A high excursion shallow driver delivers bass response that is both precise and plentiful, precisely what you would expect from PSB.
The CSIW SUB10 is one of many high performance speaker solutions that enables a system designer or installer the ability to simply pick the right tool for the job. To make implementation even easier, PSB has developed a complementary subwoofer amplifier (CS 500W) to power up to two subwoofers simultaneously.
Designed and voiced by the legendary Paul Barton at Canada’s famed NRC in Ottawa. All PSB subwoofer models are voiced to deliver tight and detailed bass response and capable of reproducing the most demanding home theatre and music tracks.
