42 mm Dynamic Driver
Inspired by Sennheiser's best audiophile headphones, the in-house 42 mm dynamic driver in the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless delivers exceptional detail. Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancellation
MOMENTUM 5 Wireless uses a completely new hybrid ANC design built around twice as many microphones for ANC as the previous generation, with all eight now digital to make the quiet more complete. The result is up to 3 times better noise cancellation across midrange frequencies than MOMENTUM 4 Wireless. Continuous and low-frequency noise, such as motor or fan noise, is particularly well suppressed, while speech or high-frequency noise is significantly reduced. With the Smart Control Plus app you can select different Active Noise Cancellation modes, including an Adaptive setting that automatically reduces noise depending on conditions. Even Mother Nature is handled by the improved Anti-Wind Mode, which can be set to Off, Auto, or Max wind noise reduction.

Transparency Mode
With Transparency Mode activated, you can hear ambient sounds or have short conversations without removing the headphones, such as hearing announcements in a train or aircraft. By adjusting the intensity of Transparency Mode and Active Noise Cancellation on the touch pad, you control how much ambient noise reaches your ears, or listen exclusively to your music by setting ANC to full intensity. Even at full Transparency Mode intensity, the headphones still suppress disturbing low-frequency noise, keeping you relaxed while remaining aware of your surroundings.

Dolby Atmos and Head Tracking
Dolby Atmos for headphones delivers an immersive and precise audio experience, introducing additional layers of dimension, distance, and realism. Combined with the head tracking feature, which allows the headphones to detect and respond to head movements, the technology ensures improved accuracy and a true sense of spatial awareness. Dolby Atmos and head tracking can each be activated or deactivated via the Smart Control Plus app; when Dolby Atmos is active without the app running, the headphones automatically enable the built-in Dolby virtualizer.

Battery and User Replacement
The 57-hour battery provides up to 57 hours of listening with ANC on, easily outlasting a week, an international flight, or a super-long playlist. A complete charging cycle takes approximately 2 hours, and the quick charge function gives approximately 7 hours of playback time after just 10 minutes of charging. Because every battery eventually wears out, the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is engineered so you can replace the battery yourself with no service center required; the compatible Sennheiser battery is the BA 500.

Calls, Connectivity, and Smart Controls
Clear calls are delivered through beamforming microphones and the feedback mic, with Own Voice Detection and an optional Sidetone function that plays your own voice back during a call. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.4 and switch seamlessly between sources, connecting to the last two connected devices and saving connection profiles for up to six paired Bluetooth devices. On-head detection via the Smart Pause function pauses music when you take the headphones off and resumes when you put them back on, while intuitive touch controls and a refined physical design keep the experience seamless. Connecting the analog audio cable or using the headphones in a quiet environment also allows Active Noise Cancellation to be used on its own.

Smart Control Plus App
For a tailored experience, the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app makes it easy to customize the sound using the built-in EQ, sound modes, and the Sound Personalization feature. The app also enables the Sound Check function for creating customized equalizer presets step by step, manages Connections between paired devices, and delivers free firmware updates over an Internet connection.
