Form At Wood Hexago P-A (A03) – Hybrid Absorption + Diffusion Acoustic Panel
The FORM AT WOOD wooden acoustic panels offer a truly unique combination of exceptional beauty and original design, while also serving an effective function of absorbing sound. This series of HEXAGO acoustic panels were created in close partnership with specialists from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, as part of a R&D project. Shipping is a fixed all-in rate of $174 per panel (freight + import duties + customs processing; no post-delivery charges). Minimum order: 5 panels. Orders are non-cancellable once production begins and non-refundable except for transit damage or defect; damage must be reported within 48 hours with photos.
Highlights & Key Technologies
Designed to Absorb
The HEXAGO P-A sound absorbing panel offers innovative technology combined with a remarkable design, the result of close cooperation between specialists from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and FORM AT WOOD. The hexagonal shape, impressive three-dimensional front and precise perforation on almost its entire surface guarantee the best sound absorption parameters and fascinating design of any interior, in a compact modular hexagonal construction with quick and easy DIY installation. The HEXAGO acoustic panel range won the DESIGN MASTERPRIZE award for its blend of design and acoustic performance.
The Geometric Prism
A striking crystalline structure that breaks the silence with visual energy. Its sharp, multi-faceted relief radiates from the center, creating a bold interplay of light and shadow that transforms the wall into a dynamic work of art. Beneath its sculptural surface lies a high-performance acoustic core, crafted to absorb sound and enhance comfort without distracting from the design.
Full-Range Class A Absorption + Diffusion
HEXAGO P-A oak acoustic panels have the highest sound absorption class A, in accordance with EN ISO 11654, which also provides broadband reverberation reduction and improved speech transmission in the full frequency range, and the panel functions as both absorber and diffuser, with a diffusion range of 400-3150 Hz (acc to ISO 17497-2). HEXAGO P-A is primarily intended for arrangements in areas where perfect acoustics are of particular importance (e.g. recording studios, listening rooms or auditoriums).
Layered Acoustic Construction
Each panel is built as a compact modular hexagon with side length 250 mm: the top is an engineered perforated 3D FAW wall panel, the box is veneered wood and wood-based materials, and the core is absorbing wool and an acoustic membrane. Mounting is by freely hanging on screws, with a comprehensive mounting kit comprising a plug and hook included and four mounting holes on the back of each panel, for quick and easy DIY installation. Panels can be wiped with a dry microfiber cloth and polished with wood preservatives.
How Many Panels Do You Need
Based on FORM AT WOOD’s R&D, recommendations for reducing reverberation time are tested under real-world conditions: by a simplified calculation method, assume 7 HEXAGO panels per 10 m² of room area, scaled to the room size (10 m² → 7 panels; 12 → 9; 15 → 11; 20 → 15; 25 → 18; 35 → 25; 50 → 36; 75 → 54; 100 → 70). For spaces over 50 m², the quantity can be reduced by a maximum of 10% from the recommended amount while maintaining the optimal reverberation-reduction effect. Even a single HEXAGO panel improves room acoustics, but the recommended quantities ensure an audible difference; room acoustics are influenced by geometry, surfaces, materials, and glazing, so consulting an acoustics expert is worthwhile for a professional result.
Modular System Integration
HEXAGO P-A can be combined with other models such as TRIANGLE or CARO, mixed with other FORM AT WOOD decorative panels like PYRAMID, as well as other panels such as PET fiberboards, and pairs seamlessly with its flat counterpart, the HEXAGO P-A FLAT.
Wood Species & Tailored Finish
Available in European oak, American walnut, and ash, sourced exclusively from strictly managed, sustainable forests with every plank traceable to its source. Oak’s rich tannin content grants total mastery over color, with an essential palette of six stains: Snow White (C01), Silky Gray (C02), Black (C03), Natural (C04), Dark Brown (C05), and Nordic Raw (C06). A bespoke finishing service can match a supplied oil specification or physical flooring sample; raw, precision-sanded panels are available for on-site finishing workflows; and a varnishing service offers any shade from the RAL/NCS libraries. Due to the organic nature of timber, natural variations in grain, texture, and color are inherent characteristics and are not considered defects.
