The UNRIVALED Difference

To achieve this goal, RBH offers two varieties of UNRIVALED to cater to the individual: UNRIVALED Passive (/PX) and UNRIVALED Active (/AX). Modular Tower System
This modular tower system combines the 821-SF/R top speaker module with the 1212-MS/R subwoofer module to create an incredible reference tower. Utilizing top tier RBH technology, it delivers flagship performance in a compact package — high output with very little compromise.

High Output AMT Tweeter
A large, high dynamic 4.72″ x 1″ (120 x 25mm) Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter handles high frequency reproduction, with tweeter protection included.

Classic MTM Array
The top module places dynamic 8″ aluminum mid-woofers in a symmetrical MTM layout around the AMT tweeter for improved imaging and reduced vertical reflections. The aluminum cone drivers are available in black or silver, and provide timbre matched options for multi-channel sound across all freestanding, bookshelf, on-wall and in-wall products in the SF, SV or SI-Series.

Powerful Musical Bass
Dual 12″ long throw aluminum cone drivers in a sealed enclosure deliver tight and musical bass with deep extension.

Subwoofer Amplification
The subwoofer modules are driven by an internal 2400 watt amplifier per tower, with an external single DA-2602DSP as the alternative configuration. RBH DA Subwoofer Amplifiers provide the power needed for deep accurate bass, whether powering a subwoofer in a home theater room or a dedicated music listening environment, and incorporate parametric EQ and shelving filters that allow you to custom-tune the bass in your room for the very best performance.

UNRIVALED Passive Crossover (PX)
The passive crossover (/PX) variants offer the exceptional build quality expected from an UNRIVALED product with a carefully crafted, hand-made, hand selected crossover with exotic components that bring the sound quality to the next level without compromising the neutral sound that RBH is known for. Improvements that are immediately noticed are transient response, a clearer, more defined soundstage with pinpoint imaging, as well as a deeper and wider soundstage. The UNRIVALED passive variant helps bridge the gap between Signature Reference and UNRIVALED Active both in price and performance.

Crossover Design & Components
While designing the UNRIVALED crossover, two main goals were at the heart of the project: to maintain and preserve the original and desired tone curve of RBH speakers, and to improve the signal integrity without coloring the sound. These crossovers are hand built with hand selected components onto a specially designed PCB board with triple the thickness of copper lining the board, providing the best compromise of preserving the signal integrity that is achieved with a point to point design and the cleanliness of a PCB board. The well renowned Mundorf Supreme Silver Gold & Oil bypass capacitor is used in the tweeter circuit, which increases the depth of the soundstage and sharpens the imaging. The sonic differences between UNRIVALED and Reference are as follows: clarity improves, soundstage increases in both breadth and depth, imaging is improved, and transient response is faster — all without sacrificing the tried and true RBH Sound sonic signature.

Damping Materials
Wool is an excellent acoustic absorber. It has a greater density and absorptive ability over polyfill. It is the material of choice for any sealed enclosures or chambers. For ported enclosures, cabinets are lined with high quality 1 inch foam which is a terrific absorber and ensures nothing is projected out of the ports.

R.A.D. Technology (Rubberized Aluminum Dampener)
Each UNRIVALED speaker cabinet is internally lined with an anti-resonance material. This material is made from rubber and aluminum and is adhered to the internal walls of the speaker. Effectively, it adds to the absorption of unwanted vibrations.

Internally Wired with Kimber Kable
As part of the no compromise that RBH pledges with UNRIVALED systems, Kimber wire is utilized with their tried and true braided geometry which further improves crosstalk rejection and external influences.

R.D.A.P. (Resonance Damping Acrylic Polymer)
To further the performance of the speaker (as well as cosmetics), side panels made from acrylic polymer solid surface, which has a density similar to granite, can drastically improve the rigidity of the speaker, which substantially reduces cabinet resonance providing several benefits including: reducing smearing, improved imaging, improved soundstage, tightened response, and improved clarity. Gloss acrylic polymer side panels are UNRIVALED only.

G.A.D.S. (patent pending)
On select, sealed only, speaker systems, RBH's new G.A.D.S. (granular acoustic damping system) technology is employed. Not only does it have mass loading effects, which can further improve the rigidity of the cabinet, it is also an excellent acoustic absorber. The marvel of this technology is while the granular particulates may occupy a significant amount of space in the enclosure, the impact on the total volume is negligibly affected, therefore the tuning of the box is near unaffected.

Cabinet, Grille & Stability
The cabinet is HDF with acrylic polymer construction, individually hand assembled and tested, made in USA of High Density Fiberboard (HDF). It is available in satin black or white, with magnetic white or black fabric grilles included, and is supported by spiked outriggers.
